The muscle and fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and the skin will all be closed in that order.

The muscle and fascia is sutured to give support to the muscle that was dissected, the subcutaneous tissue helps seal the wound, reducing the risk of infection, and lastly, the skin is closed to finish the wound closure, also reducing the risk of infection.
