What it does, the lengths it comes in and what experienced techs know about it.

  • What it’s for

Placed in the breast pocket before the permanent implant to choose the right size. With the sizers in, the bed is raised to a sitting position so the surgeon can judge the look from several angles; then the sizers come out and the permanent implants go in. Pulled for breast augmentation, mastopexy with augmentation and reconstruction.

  • Lengths and variants

Gel sizers in a range of volumes and shapes, or saline-fill sizers. They should be available in a variety of sizes; some facilities stock them and some order them for the case.
