da Vinci Xi Surgical System
Also called da Vinci System, da Vinci Xi
Intuitive's multi-arm robotic surgical system. It has a surgeon console where the surgeon sits to operate, a patient cart with the instrument arms on an overhead boom from a central column, a vision system with 3D HD video, and wristed EndoWrist instruments.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Robotic-assisted surgery in general, urologic, gynecologic and other specialties. The patient cart is moved with a motor drive and docked to the ports; the scrub attaches and removes instruments using the clutch controls on the arms. When the first instrument arm is connected, the cart's drive brakes lock. The Xi can work with the TruSystem 7000dV table (integrated table motion) so the table can move with the arms docked.
