Dual-Offset Broach Handle
Also called Dual-Offset Handle, Extra Curved Broach Handle
- Type
- Specialty
A broach handle with an offset shape, made in left and right versions, that keeps clear of soft tissue during femoral preparation. Broaches and modular cutting tools attach to it. Some sets also have an extra-curved handle.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Anterior-approach hip: carries the broaches (and in DART the modular box osteotome and reverse cutting rasp) into the femur past the soft tissue. DART: push the smallest broach in lined up with the intended version and only then start light mallet blows, watching the handle for varus/valgus cues.
