Kyphon Osteo Introducer
Also called KYPHON ELEMENT Osteo Introducer, Working cannula, Cannula
A blunt stylet inside a working cannula that has reference markings. It slides over the blunt guide pin; the cannula stays in as the working channel.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Slid over the blunt guide pin and advanced under imaging through soft tissue into bone, turning the handle clockwise; a mallet may help. Holding the cannula, the handle is turned 180 degrees counterclockwise to remove the stylet, and the guide pin is removed. The cannula then takes the drill, curette, balloon and bone filler, and is removed at the end.
