A bipolar radiofrequency generator with forceps shaped like standard clamps: a 7 in Pean-style clamp (LigaSure Standard), a 9 in Heaney-style clamp (LigaSure Max) and a 5 mm laparoscopic Maryland-style grasper/dissector (LigaSure Lap).

Sealing vessels: a set amount of bipolar energy and pressure fuses the collagen and elastin of the vessel wall into one structure, closing the lumen with a permanent seal. Used in open and laparoscopic surgery.
