A long, thin probe with a fine pointed steel tip, a blue handle and a T-shaped end with small posts where the probe's tracker mounts.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Bone registration: the surgeon touches points on the bone surface so the system can match the CT-based model to the patient (within 0.5 mm in the knee). In the hip it also checks checkpoints (divots in small bone screws) to show an array has not moved, and collects landmarks.
