A small power saw whose blade sits at a right angle to the handpiece and oscillates side to side (sagittal motion).

Cutting small bones. In bunion and Lapidus surgery it preps the first tarsometatarsal joint and makes the bone cuts; a microsagittal saw is used with the small bone set for these cases.
