A mechanical hysteroscopic tissue removal (mHTR) system made by Hologic: a 7.25 mm hysteroscope with a 0-degree optic and disposable cutting devices of 3.0 and 4.0 mm, with automatic window closure. FDA approved in 2009.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Operative hysteroscopy for submucous fibroids or large endometrial polyps. The cutting device goes through the hysteroscope, suctions tissue into the device, cuts it and removes it. It is an option instead of the electrosurgical resectoscope loop.
