Solid metal rod with a smooth, rounded tip and a knob or lock at the back. It fits inside a sheath so its tip fills the sheath's open end.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Makes the leading end of a sheath smooth for insertion, such as a cystoscope or resectoscope sheath through the urethra into the bladder, or a trocar or arthroscope sheath through tissue. It is then removed and the telescope put in.
