A fine ear knife on a long, very thin handle with a small round blade (about 2 mm) at the tip. It comes straight or angled at 45 degrees, in several sizes.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Sharp dissection of fine structures in ear surgery. In tympanoplasty the surgeon makes the tympanomeatal incision with a sharp round knife. In medialization thyroplasty a Rosen knife is used to dissect the inner perichondrium of the thyroid cartilage window.
