Suture Anchor Inserter
Also called Anchor Inserter
A handle that holds a suture anchor at its tip so the anchor can be driven into a prepared hole in bone. Each anchor system has its own.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Places suture anchors, for example in the glenoid for a Bankart repair, the fibula and talus in a Broström repair, or the ischial tuberosity in a hamstring repair. In the arthroscopic Bankart steps, the scrub hands the anchor and inserter; the surgeon loads the anchor and slides it down the suture into the drilled hole, then removes the inserter.
Sizes & variants
The lengths, angles and patterns it comes in.
Depends on the anchor system.
