The case

Achilles Tendon Detachment and Reconstruction surgery is a procedure where the Achilles tendon is surgically detached and then reattached to either repair a torn or ruptured tendon, or to reconstruct it using another piece of surrounding tendon. The surgery involves making an incision, dissecting to the Achilles tendon, reconstruction using suture or suture anchors, achieving hemostasis, closure in layers, and postoperative care. The patient is typically placed in a splint after the surgery.
