Hand reamers for the femoral canal, used on a T-handle. Each shaft is marked with two stem sizes (size 12 has its own design), and a ring mark next to each size shows how deep to ream.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Optional, for narrow (Dorr type A) femoral canals when the broach stops advancing before it is rotationally stable. Start with the reamer two sizes below the expected stem and advance until the ring mark for the intended size meets the medial calcar. Re-insert the broach; if still unstable, go up one reamer size.
