Aiming Arm, radiolucent
Also called Aiming Arm
A radiolucent aiming arm that slides into the hook at the distal part of the TN-ADVANCED insertion handle and latches to it. It has holes, each with a marking beside it, that line up with the nail's proximal locking holes, plus a center hole that compatible reaming rods pass through.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Used for proximal locking of the tibial nail. The three-part trocar assembly (protection sleeve, drill sleeve, trocar) goes through the chosen hole so the drill hits the nail's locking hole. With the drill bit and sleeves in its holes, the paths of the two most proximal locking screws can be checked on a C-arm image. It is handed after the nail is seated and the nail-to-handle connection has been retightened.
