Annuloplasty Ring Handle
Also called Handle
An optional reusable handle with a bendable stainless steel shaft. It snaps onto the holder that comes mounted on a Carpentier-Edwards Physio II annuloplasty ring. Models 1150 and 1151 are packaged separately.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Mitral annuloplasty. The handle is snapped onto the ring holder in one motion so the ring can be carried and lowered ('parachuted') down the annular sutures. Windows in the holder let the surgeon see the valve while lowering. After the holder is cut free from the ring, the handle is pulled off the holder by gripping the holder at the connection; the holder is thrown away and the handle is kept.
