Fine ear microinstrument with a small blunt elevator tip. Olympus makes one on a round, knurled straight handle and a flat, bayonet-shaped one with a blunt tip angled up, 165 mm long.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Middle ear surgery. In tympanomastoidectomy the surgeon may stop drilling to probe the mastoid and identify structures with a pick, curved needle, or annulus elevator. In the canal approach the skin, fibrous annulus and eardrum are lifted together as one flap.
