AtriClip LAA Exclusion System
Also called AtriClip
An implantable clip for the left atrial appendage, preloaded on a disposable applier. The applier has a handle with an activation lever and lever release trigger, a shaft, and an end effector that turns 30 degrees left or right and 60 degrees up or down, with an articulation lock. A deployment tab at the back of the handle releases the clip.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Closes off the left atrial appendage at its base, under direct vision, during other cardiac surgery. After sizing with the selection guide, the clip is opened with the lever, placed at the base of the appendage and closed while still attached, so it can be reopened and moved. When placement is right, the deployment tab is pulled slowly, the end effector is unlocked and withdrawn, and the clip and its attachment suture stay behind.
