Coonrad/Morrey Ulna Rasp

Also called Ulna Rasps, Starter Rasp, Small Rasp, Regular Rasp

Official 1 photo

A T-handled rasp with a curved, offset shaft and a short tapered rasp blade with cross-cut teeth, angled to follow the ulnar canal. Made in left and right versions and several sizes.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Used in order after the Pilot Rasp: the right or left Starter Rasp, then the Small or Regular Rasp inserted with a gentle twist. For the extra-small ulnar component the Starter Rasp is the last rasp and must be fully seated. With a small component in a large canal, the Regular Rasp can follow the Small Rasp for a thicker cement mantle. With the rasp in the canal, keeping its handle perpendicular to the olecranon 'flat' sets the implant orientation.
