Cornea PK Punch Handle
- Setup
- 1
A bench-top corneal punch. A heavy base holds a white cutting block, and an arm above it guides a plunger with a knurled top that drives a round trephine blade straight down onto the block.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Cuts the donor corneal button in penetrating keratoplasty. The donor cornea is laid in the curved well of the block, endothelial side up, and punched from behind, usually with a trephine about 0.5 mm larger than the one used on the patient's eye.
