Counter Torque Wrench

A cannulated sleeve with tips at the end that fit over the pedicle screw head and straddle the rod. The set screw driver passes down through its center.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Final tightening of the set screws. The wrench is placed over the screw and rod, the set screw driver goes through it into the set screw, and the wrench is held still while the torque-limiting handle is turned. Also used when loosening set screws to remove implants, to protect the pedicle.
