cryoICE Cryoablation Probe
Also called cryoICE probe, Cryo3
A nitrous oxide cryoablation probe with a manifold, color-coded temperature connectors, a retractable handle, a rigid shaft, a malleable aluminum tip, and tubing with gas inlet and exhaust connectors. It comes with a form tool that has a 13 mm radius end and a 26 mm radius end for bending the tip.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Surgical ablation for atrial fibrillation (Maze). The probe freezes tissue to block conduction where a clamp cannot reach, for example at the mitral and tricuspid annulus. Setup: connect gas inlet, exhaust and temperature connectors to the cryoICE BOX console, retract the handle to expose the tip, and pre-freeze in air. In use: shape the tip with the form tool, place it on the target, freeze, let it defrost until above 0 C, then lift it off and wipe the tip.
