DeBakey Aortic Aneurysm Clamp
Also called DeBakey Aortic Clamp
A long, heavy vascular clamp with ring handles, a ratchet, curved shanks and long jaws lined with fine DeBakey atraumatic serrations. The jaws hold a vessel closed without crushing it.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Occludes the aorta, partly or completely, during aneurysm repair and graft placement, for example across the neck of a saccular aneurysm or while a fusiform aneurysm is removed and replaced with a graft. It can also tunnel under tissue to pull a graft through to its distal anastomosis.
Sizes & variants
