Doyen Raspatory
Also called Doyen Elevator, Doyen Rib Raspatory, Doyen Rib Stripper, Doyen Elevator and Stripper
Solid tapered handle and straight shaft ending in an open C-shaped hook. The inside of the hook is flat with sharp edges. Made as a right and left pair.

Strips the periosteum from a rib before the rib is cut, as in thoracotomy.

About 6 1/2-7 1/4 in (165-183 mm). Large blades about 6 x 40 mm and small about 5 x 29 mm, left and right (Jarit). Codman lists 7 in with a 30 mm blade.
