Official 1 photo

A drill bit with a flexible shaft, used through a drill guide or sleeve that centers it in a screw hole of the metal acetabular shell.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Optional screw fixation of the acetabular cup. If screws are wanted, the holes are drilled from inside the shell with the flexible drill and drill guide, preferably in the posterosuperior quadrant. The screws then go in with a universal-joint (U-joint) or flexible screwdriver. Drill, screws, drill guide, depth gauge and flexible screwdriver are needed for this step.
