Ring-handled clamp with a ratchet, long shanks and a short curved (sometimes straight) jaw. Crosswise serrations cover about half the jaw and end in fine blunt tips.
Primary uses

Clamps small vessels deep in a wound and holds tonsil sponges. A free tie can be loaded in it to make a tie on a passer.
