Hammer Guide
A guide that screws onto the back end of the driving cap, or onto the nail extraction screw at removal.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Helps keep hammer blows in line while the nail is seated. The slotted hammer slides along it for backward blows, to back the nail out or, after distal locking, to compress the fracture. At removal it is attached to the extraction screw and the nail is driven out with gentle hammer blows.
