Insert for Kleppinger Bipolar Forceps

Official 2 photos
Length
13⅜ in

The removable inner working part of a reusable 5 mm laparoscopic Kleppinger bipolar forceps: a long, thin rod ending in flat paddle-shaped jaws with ridged (serrated) faces. The jaw arms are covered in black insulation up to the bare tips. It slides into the outer shaft and locks into the handle.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Assembled with its shaft and handle, it makes the Kleppinger bipolar forceps, which grasps and coagulates tissue and vessels during laparoscopy. The insert is sold separately, so a worn one can be replaced on its own.

Sizes & variants

The lengths, angles and patterns it comes in.

13⅜″340 mm

Fits a 5 mm forceps; one maker's version has a 340 mm working length.
