Insertion Handle, radiolucent, short
Also called Insertion handle
A short radiolucent handle with a barrel that snaps onto the top of the nail; two slots on the barrel line up with marks on the nail. Marks on the handle are 5 mm apart. The aiming arm latches onto a hook at its distal part, and a hole in it guides a guide wire or the proximal AP screw.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Holds and steers the nail. The connecting screw passes through its barrel to lock the nail on. The driving cap goes on it for hammering and the aiming arm for proximal locking. It can stay on to line up the end cap, which fits through its barrel.
