Lapiplasty Positioner

Official 1 photo

A clamp-like positioner with a tip that goes onto the 2nd metatarsal through a stab incision and a cup that sits on the medial ridge of the 1st metatarsal. It is cannulated for a 1.6 mm K-wire and has Positioner Caps.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Tightened to 'two finger' tightness to bring the first metatarsal into corrected alignment before any cut. A 1.6 mm K-wire is then driven through its cannulation into the 2nd metatarsal to hold the correction. It can be reapplied during compression to stabilize the correction.
