An intermediate-weight clamp with shanks curved to one side and four fitted pins along the jaw; one jaw is serrated, the other smooth. About 6 3/4-7 in with a 40 mm jaw.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Holds muscle under traction without crushing the fibers. Common in open neck surgery and muscle biopsy. In thyroidectomy, if more exposure is needed the strap muscles may be divided between Mastin muscle clamps, Kocher clamps or hemostats.
