Offset Reamer Handle
Also called Offset reamer
An acetabular reamer handle with an offset shaft, made so the reamer can reach the acetabulum through the direct anterior approach.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Direct anterior total hip, acetabular reaming. It helps avoid catching lateral tissue and pushing too hard on the anterior acetabular wall. As an option the reamer is put in the wound by hand and the handle is then attached; after reaming, a clamp pulls back the handle's locking mechanism so handle and reamer come out separately. Reaming progress can be checked with fluoroscopy.
Sizes & variants
The lengths, angles and patterns it comes in.
System specific; follows the acetabular implant system.
