OPERACE Extraction Drill Bit

Also called Extraction Drill Bit

Official 1 photo

A high-speed steel drill bit with a silicon carbide coating, used in a power drill chuck. Sized to the screw diameter.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Removes locking screws stuck in a plate. The bit, already spinning clockwise, is set in the screw recess and drilled with very light pressure to the far side of the plate. This frees the screw head from the shaft so the plate lifts off with the heads; the shafts are then taken out with the extraction reamer. It can also deepen a damaged recess so an extraction screw can bite.

Sizes & variants

The lengths, angles and patterns it comes in.

1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.2, 4.0, 5.0, 6.5 and 7.5, for screw diameters from 1.0 mm up to 7.5 mm (Table 3).
