Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Picks the implant footprint, height and position. The trial goes in domed side up and pointing cranially, lined up on midline with the groove, and is tapped to the posterior margin of the disc space with the slotted mallet under lateral fluoroscopy. Retainer distraction is released to find the smallest fitting height. The T-handle comes off with the trial left in for an A/P check of width and midline, then slight distraction lets the trial out.
