A heavy ring-handled clamp, straight or curved, with a box lock and ratchet. The jaws have lengthwise (longitudinal) serrations that end in a short cross-hatched tip for extra grip.
Primary uses

Clamps larger blood vessels and thick or tough tissue before it is tied, usually deep in the wound. Also used to hold drains or heavy material, and a Kittner is often loaded onto it.
