A spinal instrument with a tip that sits on the rod so the surgeon can push the rod down.
Primary uses

Posterior spinal fixation. The tip is placed on the rod and pushed with axial force until the rod seats in the pedicle screw head. It also helps rod placement while locking screws go in, and gives counterforce or countertorque when the locking screwdriver is tightened or taken off.
