Table-mounted lifting retractor system: a post and table clamp hold an arm with a crank or ratchet that raises a rake or blade hooked under the edge of the sternum.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Lifts one side of the split sternum so the surgeon can see and take down the internal mammary artery (IMA) during CABG. Also used for redo sternotomy, subxiphoid and pectus procedures.
