SLS II Laser Sheath
Also called Excimer laser sheath, Laser sheath
An extraction sheath built from 82 optical fibers (each 100 micron) around an inner lumen. They carry 308 nm ultraviolet excimer laser light from the CVX-300 laser to the tip. The distal 10 cm is flexible and the tip is beveled about 15 degrees.
Primary uses
What this instrument is on the table to do.
Transvenous lead extraction. The sheath is passed over the lead, which is held taut with a locking stylet, and the laser is fired to free the lead from scar tissue. Near the heart wall it gives countertraction while the lead is pulled. A mechanical outer sheath can be added when calcified scar stops it.
Sizes & variants
The lengths, angles and patterns it comes in.
12 Fr, 14 Fr and 16 Fr, for leads up to 7.5 Fr, 9.5 Fr and 11.5 Fr outer diameter.
