S-Retractor

A thin, double-ended metal ribbon bent into an S shape. One end curves less than the other.
Primary uses

Gives exposure while the umbilical trocar is placed with the open (Hasson) technique in laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Also useful in small wounds such as breast biopsies.

Stainless steel. Hasson-style S retractors come as a set of two, rigid or malleable, with 10 or 13 mm blades, about 6¼ to 7⅛ in long.
