Heavy ring-handled clamp with a ratchet and non-slip jaws that have no coarse serrations, so tubing is squeezed shut without being cut.

Primary uses

What this instrument is on the table to do.

Clamps tubing and cannulas shut, such as heart-lung bypass lines and chest tubes. It is not used on tissue.

About 5 1/2 to 8 1/8 in (14 to 20.5 cm), sized to the tubing: about 6 1/8 in for 1/4 in tubing, 7 3/8 in for 3/8 in tubing, and 8 1/8 in for 1/2 in tubing. Versions with a U-shaped safety guard keep the box lock from puncturing the tubing.
