What it means
The female sex cell, made in the ovary. Each month, one ovum is usually released at ovulation and travels down a fallopian tube, where it can be fertilized by a sperm. It carries half of the genetic material a baby needs. In a stool test for "ova and parasites," ova means the eggs of parasitic worms.
