What it means
From the Greek word for child, it is the root in pediatrics (the care of children), pediatrician and pediatric. A different root with the same spelling comes from the Latin word for foot: a pedal pulse is felt on the top of the foot, and a pedicure is care of the feet. The rest of the word tells which one is meant.
Remember it
Pediatrics is for kids; pedals are for feet.
