rapport

A relationship of trust and understanding between two people, such as a nurse and a client.

ra-POR noun

What it means

Rapport makes clients more willing to share how they feel and to take part in their care. Nurses build it by introducing themselves, listening, being honest, keeping promises and respecting the client's culture and choices.
