What it means
A water-soluble B vitamin found in milk, eggs, meat, green vegetables and fortified grains. A lack of it is rare in people who eat a varied diet; it causes cracks at the corners of the mouth, a sore red tongue and scaly skin. Riboflavin supplements turn the urine bright yellow, which is harmless.
For the nurse
Teach a client taking it that bright yellow urine is expected.
