What it means
The standard staging system for most solid cancers. T describes the size and reach of the main tumor (T0 to T4), N whether nearby lymph nodes are involved (N0 to N3), and M whether the cancer has spread to distant parts of the body (M0 or M1). The combination gives the stage, I to IV, which guides treatment.
