What it means
The root in words about the bladder. Vesicoureteral reflux is urine flowing backward from the bladder up the ureters; a vesicostomy is an opening from the bladder to the skin. It is the Latin-based partner of cyst/o, which also means bladder. A vesicle, by contrast, is a small blister on the skin.
