What it means
A care bundle is a small group of evidence-based steps that, done together every time, prevent a complication better than any one step alone, such as the central-line bundle or the sepsis bundle. Bundling can also mean clustering care, doing several tasks in one visit so a client can rest, and in newborn care it means wrapping a baby snugly in a blanket (swaddling).
For the nurse
Each step of a bundle is done and documented every time; skipping one breaks the bundle.
