What it means
Sperm made in the testis pass into the epididymis, where they mature and gain the ability to swim. From there they move into the vas deferens. Inflammation of the epididymis (epididymitis) causes pain and swelling in the scrotum and is often caused by infection, including sexually transmitted infections.
