What it means
NCSBN (the National Council of State Boards of Nursing) writes the exam, and it is used in the US and some other countries. It is a computerized adaptive test, which picks each next question based on earlier answers, and it tests clinical judgment, including case-study questions. Practical (vocational) nurses take a separate exam, the NCLEX-PN.
