What it means

A low urine output. In adults it is usually defined as less than 400 to 500 mL in 24 hours, or less than 0.5 mL per kilogram of body weight per hour. It can come from too little fluid or blood reaching the kidneys (dehydration, bleeding, shock), from kidney damage, or from a blockage to urine flow. Anuria is almost no urine at all.
